Department of Defense
Per DFARS 219.808-1(a), ANCs may receive DoD sole source contracts up to $100M without a J&A. For acquisitions over $100M, a more streamlined J&A is required per FAR 6.303-2(d) and the approval authority is the head of the procuring activity per DFARS 206.304(S-71).
Federal
For non-Department of Defense clients, per FAR 19.808-1(a), ANCs may receive sole source contracts up to $25M without a J&A. For acquisitions over $25M, a more streamlined J&A is required per FAR 6.303-2(d) and the approval authority is head of procurement activity per FAR 6.304(a)(3).
Non-Protestable
ANC 8(a)-owned Joint Ventures provide a streamlined sole source procurement option to customers, maximizing small business goals in short turnaround times. In addition, sole source awards made to ANC 8(a) firms cannot be protested per 13 CFR 124.517.

GAO permits ANCs to claim all the experience and work history of its affiliated corporations when the proposal makes clear that the resources associated with the affiliated company/companies will have meaningful involvement in the execution of the present contract. 5% Indian Incentive Program (IIP) for Subcontract Support
By selecting a Katmai Joint Venture for a subcontract worth $500,000 or more, Department of Defense contractors can take advantage of the IIP, a congressionally sponsored program that provides a 5% rebate to a prime contractor on the total amount subcontracted to Indian-owned economic enterprises in accordance with DFARS Clause 252.226-7001 and Section 504 of the Indian Financing Act of 1974 (25 USC 1544).
