ANC 8(a) Company
As an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) with subsidiaries which are certified under the Small Business Administration’s (SBA’s) 8(a) business development program, the Katmai family of businesses enjoy many procurement advantages with the Federal government.
Sole Source: ANC 8(a)’s may be sole-sourced Federal contracts of any size. Unlike non-tribally-owned 8(a)’s, we are not subject to the $7M competitive threshold for contracts assigned manufacturing NAICS codes or the $4M competitive threshold for all other types of contracts per 13 CFR 124.506(b).
8(a) Eligibility: The eligibility of an 8(a) participant for a sole source or competitive 8(a) award cannot be protested per 13 C.F.R. 517(a).
Size Protest: Sole source awards made to 8(a) firms cannot be protested per 13 C.F.R. 124.517(b).
Past Performance: As an ANC 8(a), Katmai may claim the past performance of its teaming partners and key management personnel during the evaluation period of an award per FAR 15.305(a)(2)(iii).
5% Indian Incentive Program: DoD Contractors who offer subcontracts to ANC firms receive a rebate of 5% of the total value of the subcontract as an incentive per Section 504 of the Indian Financing Act of 1974 (25 U.S.C. § 1544).
